New Rules for Federal Contractors are Providing Opportunities

Federal contractors are looking for ways to get the deaf into jobs more than ever before. That's because new rules kicked in this past March in an effort "to reduce high unemployment rates for veterans and people with disabilities, and strengthen contractors’ affirmative action and nondiscrimination policies." Contractors with more than 100 employees (like Royal Dutch Shell, AT&T and Dell) are expected to have 7 percent of its workforce made up of "veterans and individuals with disabilities."
